Our Story
A Story Rooted in Panama
Red Field Coffee was born from a deep passion for specialty coffee and a heartfelt connection to the highlands of Panama, a land renowned for producing some of the most exceptional coffees in the world. Nestled between two oceans and enriched by volcanic soil, lush forests, and a unique microclimate, Panama offers ideal growing conditions that elevate every coffee cherry to its fullest expression.

The heart of Red Field Coffee is Jose Barreto and Kristal Berttiz. In 2014, they moved to Panama, where they built a lasting bond with the people, the land, and its traditions. Coffee became more than a daily ritual—it was their connection to the community and culture that welcomed them. That bond is the foundation of Red Field Coffee, and today, from Florida, they share Panama’s excellence with the U.S. market.
We partner with small, family-owned farms committed to sustainable and ethical practices. These dedicated producers cultivate high-altitude varietals like Geisha, Catuai, and Typica, carefully hand-picking each cherry at peak ripeness. Their craft, care, and generations of knowledge are the foundation of the coffees we roast.
Every batch is artisanally roasted with precision and respect for origin. The roasting process is designed to highlight the vibrant acidity, complex aromas, and natural sweetness that define Panamanian coffees.
At Red Field, we believe coffee is more than a beverage—it’s a story of place, people, and passion. From the fertile red fields of Boquete and Volcán to your morning ritual, each cup is a celebration of craftsmanship and connection.
From the field to your mug, experience the richness of Red Field Coffee.
